Junior Compliance Officer (m/f) - Capital Markets

Capital Markets Compliance is responsible for the adherence to all applicable laws related to Capital Markets (esp. WAG 2018, BörseG and related European regulation). To strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a Junior Compliance Officer (m/f):

Your tasks:

  • You will support the team in all its tasks and projects related to Capital Markets Compliance and will gradually take over responsibility for topics
  • Periodical review of RBI Group standards and policies to fulfil legal requirements regarding Capital Markets Compliance and its implementation
  • Controls the observance of compliance rules within RBI Group regarding market abuse (prohibitions of insider dealing and market manipulation) and regarding investment services (principles of investor and investment based advice, conflicts of interest, etc.), analyses reports of RBI Group entities and performs desk reviews in areas relevant for Capital Markets Compliance (e.g. local implementation of RBI Group standards and policies regarding Capital Markets)
  • Participation in group-wide projects as Compliance stakeholder
  • Support of RBI Group entities, inter alia solving complex questions and cases
  • Willingness to travel in Austria and abroad (esp. subsidiaries and branch offices in CEE/SEE)
  • Cooperates with regulatory and law enforcement authorities (e.g. preparation of documentation and statements in case of requests)
  • Supports daily operation of RBI Compliance systems (e.g. alert handling and case management for suspicious alerts, reviewing employee transactions, compliance statements, conflicts of interest, etc.)
  • Supports the development of compliance trainings programs and conducts trainings
  • Your ambition is to identify potential for new ways of working within our department (new collaboration technologies, new (agile) approaches, etc.)
  • You are innovative, you have an interest in IT and want to work with pilots using new technologies

Your qualifications:

  • First experience in banking with understanding of products and the standard processes of a financial institution (focusing on e.g. capital markets/trading area, investment services/customer area, Securities Compliance)
  • University degree/advanced studies in law, economics or comparable subject of advantage
  • First experience with project management (ideally also with agile projects/scrum) including a structured and organized way of working; attention to details
  • Basic change management skills backed by strong multi-cultural sensitivity
  • Innovative strength and hands on experience in developing digital work streams
  • Knowledge of principles and market practice for detection of market manipulation and insider trading of advantage
  • Excellent English and German skills, knowledge of CEE/SEE-languages of advantage
  • High level of communications skills
  • Team player, flexible and dynamic personality, ability to work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Conflict management and cost awareness
  • Proficiency in MS applications (Excel, Power Point, Word) and process-mapping
  • High willingness to learn and grow within the company
