Product Owner for the Low Default Probability (LDP) Rating Model Stream (f/m/x)


The LDP Rating Model Stream, as part of the Rating Deliver Tribe, is responsible for the following products which are of key importance for bank steering: development and maintaining of Non-retail credit risk rating models, methodology and estimation of life time PD, LGD and CCF used for IFRS 9 portfolio provisioning and internal steering and standard risk charges calculation.
The portfolios in scope are Sovereign, Financial Institution, Fond, Insurance and Local and Region Government. The LDP team uses mathematical and statistical methods together with programming skills and thorough business understanding of risk management and quantitative finance.
 
We are looking for a highly motivated product owner with the will and ability to contribute beyond hierarchies and silos. This position in located within Group Risk Controlling and reports to the Head of Risk Methods and Analytics.

 Your role at RBI

  • You are responsible for the product vision and the development roadmap, aligning with stakeholders and understanding the impact map and business objectives
  • You are responsible for the prioritization of product requirements and ad-hoc requests by considering needs and objectives of stakeholders and juggling scope, budget and time
  • You manage the product backlog by creating the backlog items and mapping out dependencies
  • You ensure that the product requirements are understood by the product team, you guide and support the team in the refinement of development stories
  • You are accountable for the evaluation of the product progress and whether the increment is acceptable and meets stakeholders’ expectations 
  • You coach team members in problem solving, give guidance on modelling approaches and implementation / deployment challenges
  • You understand the relevance of requests with respect to risk, business and capital impact and prioritize the backlog accordingly
  • You drive innovation and continuous learning and push our products in the direction of cutting-edge technology 
  • You are committed to an agile mindset and contribute to the ongoing refinement of our agile practices
  • You are deeply committed to our products and willing to as well join the team in hands-on development work


Your core competencies

  • Completed and relevant university degree (MSc, PhD, Dr.)
  • 5 years’ experience in financial services industry, ideally in credit risk modelling
  • Experience in credit risk modelling and relevant tools, ideally R and Python
  • Strong understanding of quantitative methods and their application in the business environment of banks
  • Experience in cross-functional, agile setups, experience in a product ownership role is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, communication, planning, coordination and presentation skills
  • Persistent, stress resilient and with a passion for delivery of high-class analytical products
