AI Experience & Design Technology Lead (f/m/x)

This new role has 2 key dimensions: 
1. an AI interactions pioneer role - Experiment, explore & roll out novel customer-facing AI experiences 
2. an AI design tooling enabler (AI design stack for generative prototyping workflows, vibe design exploration frameworks) so that we foster design productivity 

It ensures AI experiences are: trustworthy, behaviorally sound, systematically integrated into retail banking service model. 
The role is based in RBI’s Retail unit, CX & Design team.

Your mission at RBI:

 

  • AI Experience Design: define principles for human–AI interaction in retail banking; shape AI’s role across the customer journey (i.e. assistant, co-pilot, advisor, automation); build trust, transparency, explainability, and fallback patterns; co-define AI opportunity spaces with Product and Data/ML teams.
  • Co-define AI opportunity spaces with Product and Data/ML teams: systematic exploration & experimentation; lead structured AI exploration sprints (concept → prototype → validation); develop and test AI interaction patterns and paradigms; define experimentation frameworks and success criteria; ensure learnings are codified and reusable / scalable.
  • AI Interaction Patterns & Design System Integration: bring / propose extensions to the design system with AI components and behaviors.
  • AI Design Tool Stack & Capability Building: curate and operationalize AI design tools (e.g., generative prototyping, interaction simulation); define responsible AI design workflows; increase design team productivity while maintaining craft quality.


Your core competencies:

 

  • +5 years of proven design leadership experience shaping digital products, services, and customer experiences at scale.
  • Expertise in human–AI experience design, creating trusted, transparent, and explainable AI interactions. 
  • Proven ability to identify, prototype, and scale AI opportunities through rapid experimentation and validation. 
  • Strong track record of leading cross-functional teams across Design, Product, Data Science, and Engineering. 
  • Deep understanding of interaction design, design systems, and AI-driven customer journeys. 
  • Hands-on experience building and operationalizing AI-powered design workflows, tools, and productivity frameworks. 
  • Skilled in defining responsible AI principles, governance, and success metrics that drive measurable business and customer outcomes.
  • Fluent in English, German or other CEE languages speaking is an advantage

  • Competitive salary: In accordance with Austrian legal requirements, the minimum salary for this position is EUR 4.206,12 gross per month under the applicable Banking Collective Agreement. The actual salary is typically higher and will be determined individually based on your qualifications, professional experience, and the specific requirements of the role.
