Innovation Performance and Portfolio Manager (f/m/x)

As part of RBI’s Innovation Management team, you will be responsible for the due diligence of early-stage new business models within the banking and financial services sector. Your duties will include monitoring progress of new business model proposals from different teams in the bank and systematically assessing their potential for success through established frameworks such as Desirability, Viability, Feasibility (DVF). You will translate strategic ambitions into measurable outcomes, ensuring disciplined capital allocation and evidence-based decision-making at every stage gate. This position suits analytical professionals with venture evaluation experience, performance-driven mindset, and deep business acumen.

Your mission at RBI:

 

  • Operationalize and further develop RBI’s business model evaluation framework to ensure thorough due diligence of new business proposals
  • Prepare detailed due diligence reports to provide leadership with clear, evidence-based recommendations to invest, pivot, or discontinue projects.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business units, strategy teams, and project teams to ensure transparent oversight and strategic alignment of RBI's innovation portfolio.
  • Track project performance through dashboards and regular governance related reports.
  • Support in building and maintaining a scalable data infrastructure for the innovation portfolio analysis using Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint, ensuring transparency and data accessibility.
  • Facilitate and document investment committee and stage gate meetings within RBI's governance framework.

 

Your profile:

 

  • University degree in innovation management, finance, economics, data analytics, entrepreneurship or related fields.
  • Professional experience in venture capital, corporate innovation management or corporate venture building.
  • Strong ability to apply various frameworks for systematic new business model analysis across desirability (market need, customer traction), viability (business case, unit economics), and feasibility (technology, capability, resources).
  • Proficiency in innovation methodologies: Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Outcome Driven Innovation, Jobs-to-be-Done
  • Very good English skills (German is a plus)
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft suite tools (Excel for financial modeling and evaluation, Power BI for dashboards, PowerPoint and Word for executive presentations and reports).
  • Excellent stakeholder communication across business units, venture teams, and leadership; ability to translate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience running or supporting investment committees, stage gates, and funding decision processes; proven track record presenting due diligence reports to senior leadership.
