International Asset & Liability Professional (f/m/x)

In this role, you will be responsible for steering the Asset & Liability Management (ALM) activities of our serviced Network Units (NWUs), supporting their business strategies with a primary focus on liquidity management and interest rate risk management. Your responsibilities will include balance sheet planning, bond portfolio initiatives, and helping stabilize net interest income in a volatile interest rate environment. Additionally, you will identify synergy opportunities in collaboration with Finance and Risk Controlling, and leverage AI and data analytics to enhance the Group ALM strategy for greater value creation.

 

Your role at RBI:

 

  • Liquidity Management: Establish and oversee liquidity target ranges for NWUs, considering regulatory and internal constraints; manage liquidity gaps and surpluses; plan liquidity under both ongoing business and stress conditions; develop and coordinate liquidity contingency plans and execute contingency measures as needed.
  • Bond portfolio strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive bond portfolio strategies across NWBs, including the design and allocation of risk limits. Prepare and update detailed reports to monitor portfolio performance and compliance. Stay at the forefront of AI technology advancements to enhance portfolio management processes.
  • Liquidity and funding optimization: Analyze NWU balance sheet evolution with a focus on funding diversification. Develop group standards for liquidity and interest rate risk models in collaboration with Risk Controlling. Identify opportunities for modeling improvements and support external hedging activities under hedge accounting.
  • NII Management: Support NWUs in creating and implementing strategies to stabilize the Bank’s NII, taking into account interest rate movements, balance sheet developments, customer demand, and embedded behavioral risks.
  • AI and project management Lead or contribute to forward-looking treasury initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and strategic capabilities. Identify synergy opportunities by leveraging Risk and Finance data to add value to the Group ALM strategy. 
  • Performance: Analyze performance indicators for serviced NWU ALM activities, identify opportunities to improve income and cost components, and develop appropriate strategies.

 

Your core competencies:

 

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Working experience in Treasury, Risk Controlling or similar area within a NWB or other group unit or other bank/financial services company/consulting firm
  • Analytical skills combined with profound quick understanding of market opportunities and relationships
  • Data analysis and processing skills, ideally proficient in SQL and Bloomberg. Mastering  group-based risk and controlling systems (Kamakura, pro-MIS) will be considered a plus
  • Communication skills and experience in dealing with complex organizations
  • Very good command of English

  • Competitive salary: In accordance with Austrian legal requirements, the minimum salary for this position is EUR 3.375,40 gross per month under the applicable Banking Collective Agreement. The actual salary is typically higher and will be determined individually based on your qualifications, professional experience, and the specific requirements of the role.
