Regulatory Credit Risk specialist (f/m/x)

Group IRB Coordination is part of Group Risk Controlling and is primarily responsible for coordinating RBI Group’s credit risk related activities under the Internal Ratings-Based (IRB) approach. The department serves as a central interface for IRB-related communication with European and national banking supervisors and supports the consistent implementation of regulatory requirements across RBI Group.

In this role, you will contribute to supervisory processes, regulatory monitoring, reporting, and the coordination of internal credit risk model topics. You will work with colleagues across Risk, IT, Legal and RBI’s network units while building practical knowledge of internal models and European banking regulation.

 

Your role at RBI:

 

  • Support IRB related regulatory applications, supervisory requests, on-site inspections and the monitoring of related follow-up measures
  • Become expert of internal credit risk model processes and related regulatory requirements  
  • Support cooperation with Raiffeisen Sector Austria for internal credit risk models
  • Act as a coordination point and develop reliable working relationships with colleagues from credit risk management, IT, Legal, Group subsidiaries and other stakeholders across all hierarchy levels.
  • Monitor relevant European regulatory developments and translate updates into concise information for internal stakeholders
  • Operate data-quality and reporting processes and identify opportunities to simplify or automate recurring activities
  • Support the testing and responsible use of data, automation and AI-based tools for process improvement

 

Your core competencies:

 

  • Education and/or practical experience in at least one relevant area, such as credit risk, risk controlling, internal models, banking regulation, audit or financial-services legal work
  • Ability to understand regulatory requirements and apply them to processes, documentation or reporting
  • Experience coordinating information and deliverables across several stakeholders or organizational units
  • Ability to explain technical or regulatory topics clearly to specialist and non-specialist audiences
  • Experience working with structured data, reports or data-quality checks
  • Professional English skills for written documentation, meetings and communication with international stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders effectively

 

Nice-to-have:

 

  • Knowledge of the Internal Ratings-Based approach, Basel framework, CRR or EBA guidelines
  • Experience with supervisory requests, regulatory examinations or communication with banking authorities
  • Experience using SQL, Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, Claude or comparable automation and AI tools
  • German skills for collaboration with Austrian stakeholders

  • Competitive salary: In accordance with Austrian legal requirements, the minimum salary for this position is EUR 2.981,98 gross per month under the applicable Banking Collective Agreement. The actual salary is typically higher and will be determined individually based on your qualifications, professional experience, and the specific requirements of the role.
