Senior Cloud DevOps Allrounder - Power BI Platform and AWS (f/m/x)

Your mission:

  • Own and automate our enterprise Power BI environment (Premium & Pro) for 15,000+ users, including deployments, monitoring, workspace governance, and API-driven workflows.
  • Build and evolve automation (CI/CD, Python-based tooling, infrastructure-as-code where feasible) across AWS and Azure to eliminate manual steps.
  • Operate and harden Windows-based Power BI Gateways in AWS, ensuring availability, patching, upgrades, and secure configuration.
  • Ensure secure, stable cross-cloud connectivity across the RBI Group (networking, firewall rules, certificates, proxies, identity).
  • Integrate Power BI with other cloud data platforms (e.g., Databricks, cloud lake houses, Delta/Iceberg in open table formats).
  • Troubleshoot end-to-end issues across Gateway → AWS/Azure → Power BI Cloud → Users (2nd/3rd level).
  • Evaluate and prepare adoption paths for Microsoft Fabric (architecture, operations, governance)

Core Competencies:

  • Expert-level cloud operations (priority: AWS; plus Azure), including networking, security, IAM, and automation.
  • Deep knowledge of Windows Server administration skills (services, patching, performance, troubleshooting) to ensure gateway reliability.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation and integration (critical). PowerShell and/or Bash are beneficial and easy to learn with Python knowledge.
  • Solid understanding of Power BI architecture, including gateways, Premium capacities, APIs, and governance.
  • Understanding of cloud data platforms (Delta/Iceberg) and secure integration patterns.
  • Deep fundamentals in firewalls, TLS/certificates, DNS, proxies, authentication flows, and zero-trust principles.
  • Experience with or interest in Microsoft Fabric; familiarity with other BI stacks (Qlik, Cognos) is a plus.
